Bone Grafting in Oakville

When dental implants are being planned for patients, there are occasions where not enough bone width is present for placement of the implants. This can be corrected with a bone grafting procedure.

The procedure itself is completed by packing particulate bone (either from human or animal origin) at the area in question, and allowing the site to heal for approximately 6 months. Once the site has healed, a CBCT scan (a 3D x-ray) is often taken to evaluate the amount of bone present, before dental implants are placed.
